Quick Start

Install Aurora IDE and connect to your backend in minutes.

Install the VS Code Extension
Download the .vsix file and install via Ctrl+Shift+P → Install from VSIX
Sign in to Aurora
Ctrl+Shift+P → Aurora: Sign In → Enter your token from the Dashboard
Start chatting with AI
Open any file and press Ctrl+Shift+A to launch the Aurora AI panel

Let Aurora autonomously write, fix, and improve your code.

How the Agent works
Aurora uses a multi-step reasoning loop with tool calls: read_file, write_file, run_command, search_codebase
Memory & Context
Aurora remembers your last 30 messages and writes long-term memory to .aurora/memory.json in your workspace
BYOK — Bring Your Own Keys
Use your own API keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini and more in Settings

Codebase Search (RAG)

Semantic search across your entire codebase.

Index your project
Open the RAG panel in the Dashboard → Index Project to build the semantic search index
Search with natural language
Ask questions like 'Where is authentication handled?' and get precise code references

Security & Privacy

Your code stays private. Aurora is EU/CH hosted (DSGVO/DSG compliant).

Data storage
Conversations are not stored on our servers by default. Only your subscription data is saved.
API key security
BYOK keys are encrypted at rest and never logged.
